The Future of Media

Here's a good special article from Popular Mechanics on the shift in content creation which will inevitably marginalize the Hollywood hype machine.

I strongly believe in the concept of bringing the content creator and the viewer closer together, and eliminating the bulk in the middle that is distribution and promotion. This will allow the content to speak for itself, and put the financial rewards more directly to the creators.

It will be a long road of paradigm shifts, technology developments and changing consumer attitudes, but it will happen eventually.

Let the content speak for itself.

Photobooth Fun...

Apple has released a new iMac with a built in iSight camera.

Along with the new computer, they have released an application, based on their core image technology, called Photo Booth that takes the classic photobooth one crazy step further.

Check out the Photo Booth Group on Flickr for lots of fun examples.

More information about Photo Booth can be found on the iSight page at Apple.

Pre-Hallowe'en Practice...

Get some virtual Jack-o-Lantern carving practice before cutting into the real thing.

Better to make a wrong cut on this one than a real pumpkin.

Happy carving. LINK

The Supernatural?

Strange but interesting. This is a car advertisement from Great Britain.

When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. They found out that a person had been killed a year earlier in that exact same spot. The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon.

Watch the front end of the car as it clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you’ll see the white mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the road….Spooky!

Is it a ghost, or is it simply mist? You decide.

Although it's a bit hard to hear, if you turn up the sound and listen to the ad, you’ll hear the cameraman whispering in the background about it near the end.

A little creepy but pretty cool! LINK
